When we’re not working with Maggies - https://www.maggies.org/ - we’re always looking for exciting partnerships to spread the soda love. So, it made complete sense to sponsor and support champions. Stone skimming champions specifically.

Not just any stone skimming in any old place - the home of the World Stone Skimming Championships on the jaw-droppingly beautiful Easdale Island (Eilean Eisdeal).

The competition is held yearly, with contenders coming from far and wide in an attempt to claim the title of World Stone Skimming Champion.

We’re even entering our own Rapscallion team and dusting off our soda making hands to switch things up a little for a day. Alongside unleashing our competitive side, we’re supplying the championships with our unlimited soda as a token of thanks for such a unique, welcoming and fun event.

Where’s Easdale Island, we hear you ask?

It’s one of the Slate Islands, in the Firth of Lorn, Scotland, and is the smallest permanently-inhabited island of the Inner Hebrides, off Scotland's west coast. Once the centre of the Scottish slate mining industry, the still pools have become a defining feature of Easdale and in turn provide perfect stone skimming conditions and a picturesque arena for contestants. The once active slate quarries, together with the wide variety of flora and bird life, make Easdale unique.

But back to the championships themselves. Ever heard of the Old Tosser? Or the Bertie? They’re just a few of the coveted medals up for grabs alongside Best Junior Skim and the Seafair Salver. And of course, Team Rapscallion are aiming for the sought after World Stone Skimming Champion cup.
