The one that started it all, Ginga Ninja was born out of a frustration and being thoroughly fed up with the cheap, sweet Ginger Beer you’ll find in fridges and shelves. And you guessed it, we couldn’t just sit there and huff about it so we decided to cut out 80% of the sugar and start rebuilding flavour from the ground up. Lo and behold, our very own Ginga Ninja revolution started and put us on the map.

QUEST FOR FRESH

At the heart of our ginger beer lies the freshest ginger sourced from the vibrant stalls of the Glasgow Fruit Market. We hand-select the finest ginger, ensuring optimal quality and flavour. We rush it home whilst still trying to look cool and not excited at all, soak it thoroughly then peel it - all carefully executed to unleash the full potential of these boxes of sassy root.

2024 is the first year since Brexit that we’ve managed to get our mitts on the good stuff once again. That means we now press a secret blend of both Chinese and Peruvian Ginger Root, giving our cans a bright bite but with more weight and fire than in previous years.

NATURE KNOWS BEST

Ginger isn't just a flavour enhancer; it's a powerhouse of health benefits. Rich in immune-boosting properties, ginger has been revered for centuries for its medicinal qualities. Half of Scotland will swear by a glass of Ginger the morning after, but we have a sneaking suspicion that they’re not talking about the good stuff. We honour its reverence by preserving the integrity of the ginger through our cold-pressing - retaining vital antioxidants, flavours and oils that set our Raw Sodas apart from the crowd.

ELEVATED FLAVOUR

To complement the robust ginger base, we infuse our brew with carefully selected spices and botanicals. Pimento berries undergo a meticulous simmering process to extract their rich woody texture, whilst the freshest of freezing Scottish water (could it BE any fresher?) serves as the canvas for infusing our delicate cardamom aromas.
The result? A harmonious symphony of flavours that tantalises the senses and gives you that fiery throat kick that has become a trademark of ours, proudly. Pimento plays the responsible role of anchoring the recipe and providing weight and depth, whilst Green Cardamom brightens and lightens the nose.

MORE BURN, BABY

Back in 2023, we made the bold move of including dried Bird’s Eye Chilli to the mix. Many of our yogies wanted to feel the burn in their bones, so we got to work adding a final bend process. By flushing our spiced base with the body and seeds of the chilli, our newest batches now give a longer lasting bite that builds on every sip.

GRAFT & CRAFT

From the hand-batched blending process to the meticulous filtration and carbonation, we’ve mastered a complex flavour character with minimal damage to flavour, nutrition and brought it back from the brink of overly sweetened extinction. Our raw ginger soda is a patient and worthwhile labour of love, meticulously crafted to deliver a refreshing and invigorating soft drink that will nourish both body & mind, and give you the best kind of kick in the throat for good measure.
