NOT ALL BERRIES WEAR CAPES?
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. If Batman was a berry we think he’d be a blueberry? He wears the cape when it comes to health. Blueberries are officially one of the highest-ranking fruits in antioxidants, pipping plenty of other fruits and veggies to the importance post. Each juicy, inky, indigo bead of feisty goodness is crammed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and, most importantly, flavour.
At Rapscallion we let fruit do the talking. No funny business, no concentrates, no corners cut. Just raw, real fruit in a can. Using blueberry was a no-brainer for us - a powerhouse of a berry that delivers greatness with every sip. That’s why we call it our Berry Bad Boy soda. Not just for shits and giggles, but because working with blueberries ain’t plain sailing. They’re a bloody nightmare when it comes to flavour extraction, but with the right nurturing and a few supportive sidekicks, we’ve tamed them into something worthy of their superhero status.

BLUEBERRY BELTERS
Blueberries in Scotland are something truly special. Slow, steady growing seasons, cooler northern climates and long daylight hours make for fruit that ripens patiently and builds natural sweetness. Hand-picked at the exact moment of peak ripeness, Scottish blueberries have traditionally commanded a premium.
For the second year now, we’ve teamed up with Castleton Farm in Aberdeenshire. If anyone knows their stuff about fruit and specifically blueberries, they do. They benefit from a cool, temperate Scottish climate with those long daylight hours just mentioned. While the climate normally limits the growing season, the farm uses controlled environment growing techniques like greenhouses with biomass boilers to extend the harvest from April to December.
Castleton Farm’s blend of tradition and innovation means they produce fruit with unmatched flavour and depth. It’s a partnership we’re proud to have found and nurtured.

TRANSFORMATIVE TIMES
It goes without saying that British farming is feeling the full force of climate change and then some. Wetter, windier seasons. Rising costs. Unpredictable yields. We’re not immune to any of it - from farm to can, these challenges make sourcing fruit harder every year.
But here’s the thang. We’re stubborn. We adapt, we evolve, and we refuse to compromise. We’ll continue to scour the UK for the right berries and the right farmers, because that’s what makes the difference between just another soft drink and a Rapscallion can. You’ll taste that resilience, that commitment, and that relentless quest for flavour in every sip. We meet the challenges with our Seasonal Range head on, and it makes every can even more limited, exclusive and special.

TELL ME MORE
Why have we given this soda the title of Berry Bad Boy? Because blueberries are a pain in the arse to work with. ‘Scuse our French. They’re not naturally aromatic and all the flavour is locked inside. To coax it out, we use finely tuned processes and give them some allies:
// Douglas Fir Pine Needles - to stretch the aroma and add lift. Think of them as the bow tie that finishes the suit.
// Green Peppercorns - earthy, grounding, the backbone that holds everything together. Like the push-up bra of the recipe (trust us).
The result? A soda that takes blueberries from a difficult bachelor to a leading man.
Berry Bad Boy wasn’t just plucked out of thin air. It started life in our X_Series as a one-off experiment, making its cameo in a bespoke project with Johnnie Walker. The response was so good, we knew it had to become part of the main cast.
How should you drink it? Straight from the can and ice cold we say to let that pine needle aroma tickle your tonsils. But our Blueberry soda also makes a fierce mixer - a nip of whisky for something brooding and complimentary. We have a wee tendency for the following accompaniments:
+ LIME WEDGES
+ LIME ZEST
+ LEMON VERBENA
+ CARDAMOM PODS
+ WHITE GRAPEFRUIT
+ LAVENDER SPRIGS
However you roll, roll with our Berry Bad Boy. You won’t be disappointed.

SEASONAL, SMALL, SCARCE
Our Seasonal Range is evolving. With fruit supply becoming tougher each year due to rising fruit costs, farming challenges, climate pressures, our sodas increasingly lean into limited-batch, exclusive runs. It all just serves as a reminder that you deserve more from your soft drinks and if it’s challenging to make, it’s worthwhile sipping. Grown, harvested, blended and canned against the odds.
When they’re here, grab them. When they’re gone, they’re gone. Because sodas like this don’t taste so good from cutting corners. They’re fought for with our capes on, and latex gloves.
We Love A Laugh
But we never muck about when it comes to sourcing the best produce and creating the purest flavour.
